Install Crewdex as a Progressive Web App (PWA) on your mobile device. It will appear on your home screen just like any other app and work even with spotty internet.

iPhone / iPad Installation

Step 1: Open Safari

⚠️ Important: You must use Safari (not Chrome or other browsers). PWA installation only works in Safari on iOS.

  1. Open Safari browser
  2. Go to crewdex.app
  3. Log in to your account

Step 2: Add to Home Screen

  1. Tap the Share button (square with arrow pointing up)

    • It's at the bottom center of Safari (iPhone)
    • Or top right corner (iPad)

  2. Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen"

  3. (Optional) Edit the name:

    • Default: "Crewdex"
    • You can rename it (e.g., "Crewdex CRM")

  4. Tap "Add" in the top right

Step 3: Launch the App

  1. Find the Crewdex icon on your home screen
  2. Tap it to open
  3. You're now using the app version! ✅

Android Installation

Step 1: Open Chrome

  1. Open Chrome browser (pre-installed on most Android phones)
  2. Go to crewdex.app
  3. Log in to your account

Step 2: Install the App

Option A: Automatic Prompt (Easiest)

If you see a banner at the bottom saying "Add Crewdex to Home screen":

  1. Tap "Add to Home screen" or "Install"
  2. Confirm by tapping "Install" again
  3. Done! ✅

Option B: Manual Installation

If you don't see the prompt:

  1. Tap the three dots (⋮) in the top right corner
  2. Tap "Add to Home screen" or "Install app"
  3. Confirm the name (default: "Crewdex")
  4. Tap "Add" or "Install"

Step 3: Launch the App

  1. Find the Crewdex icon on your home screen or app drawer
  2. Tap it to open
  3. You're now using the app version! ✅

Troubleshooting

iPhone: "Add to Home Screen" option not showing

Solution:

  • Make sure you're using Safari (not Chrome or Firefox)
  • You must be on the actual site (crewdex.app), not a search results page
  • Try reloading the page (pull down to refresh)

Android: "Install" or "Add to Home Screen" not appearing

Solution:

  • Make sure you're using Chrome browser
  • Clear Chrome cache: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data
  • Try visiting the site again
  • Some Android skins (Samsung, Xiaomi) may hide this option—check under "Apps" in browser menu

App icon disappeared from home screen

Solution:

  • Reinstall following the steps above
  • Icon may have moved to another screen or folder
  • On Android: Check app drawer

App won't open / shows blank screen

Solution:

  1. Force close the app
  2. Reopen it
  3. If still broken, uninstall and reinstall:
    • iPhone: Long-press icon → Remove App → Delete App
    • Android: Long-press icon → App info → Uninstall
  4. Reinstall following the steps above

How do I remove the app?

iPhone:

  1. Long-press the Crewdex icon
