What Are Recommended Services?
Recommended Services are past services you've received that are due for repeat maintenance based on:
- Manufacturer recommendations (HVAC tune-ups, equipment inspections)
- Seasonal schedules (quarterly pest control, monthly lawn care)
- Industry best practices (annual plumbing checks, safety inspections)
These recommendations help you stay on top of regular maintenance and prevent costly emergency repairs.
When Do Services Appear?
Recommendations appear based on your service history and the recommended maintenance schedule for each service type.
Common Service Intervals
Different services have different recommended frequencies:
- Pest Control: Every 90 days (quarterly)
- HVAC Tune-Up: Every 180 days (seasonal - spring and fall)
- Lawn Care: Every 30 days (monthly during growing season)
- Pool Maintenance: Every 30 days (monthly)
- Plumbing Inspection: Every 365 days (annual)
- Electrical Safety Check: Every 90 days (quarterly for commercial)
Example Timeline:
Day 0: Pest control treatment completed
Day 30: Service becomes eligible (30-day minimum wait)
Day 90: Service appears in your recommendations (90-day interval reached)
Day 91: You book follow-up → recommendation disappears
What Controls When Services Appear
✅ Time since last service - Based on job completion date, not invoice payment date
✅ Service type - Each service has its own recommended interval
✅ Already scheduled - Services you've already booked won't show again
✅ Minimum age - Services become eligible 30+ days after completion
How to View Recommendations
In Your Portal Dashboard
- Log into customer portal using magic link from email
- Scroll to Recommended Services section on dashboard
- View list of services due for maintenance
Each recommendation card shows:
- Service name (e.g., "Quarterly Pest Control")
- Last performed (e.g., "95 days ago")
- Description of the service
- Estimated price (if available)
- "Request Callback" button to book
No Recommendations Showing?
You'll see "All Caught Up!" with a green checkmark when:
✅ All your services are up to date
✅ Too soon since last service (check back next month)
✅ You've already scheduled upcoming maintenance
✅ You're a new customer (no service history yet)
How to Book a Recommended Service
Option 1: Request Callback (Fastest)
- Find service in Recommended Services
- Tap "Request Callback" button
- Select preferred date and time
- Add any special requests (optional)
- Submit request
The business will contact you within 24 hours to confirm scheduling.
Option 2: Call Directly
Every recommendation card shows the business phone number:
- Tap phone number to call
- Reference the service name when you call
- Schedule appointment over the phone
Why Don't I See Any Recommendations?
If you're not seeing expected services in recommendations, here are possible reasons:
1. ✅ All Services Up to Date
Your maintenance is current! Services will reappear when they're due again based on recommended intervals.
What to do: Check back next month, or browse main page to request new services.
2. 🔄 Too Soon Since Last Service
Services appear based on industry-recommended frequencies. Even if you want service sooner, it won't show until the recommended interval passes.
Examples:
- Pest control: Shows after 90 days
- Lawn care: Shows after 30 days
- HVAC maintenance: Shows after 180 days
What to do: For urgent needs, call directly or submit a service request from the main page.
3. 📅 Already Scheduled
If you've booked a follow-up service, it won't appear in recommendations to prevent double-booking.
What to do: Check your "Upcoming Appointments" section to view scheduled services.
4. 🆕 First-Time Customer
Recommendations only appear for services you've received before. New customers start with an empty list.
What to do: Complete your first service, then recommendations will appear based on that service's schedule.
Understanding Service Intervals
Different services have different maintenance needs:
Monthly Services (30-day intervals)
Examples: Lawn mowing, pool cleaning, filter changes
Why monthly: Regular upkeep prevents buildup, maintains appearance, ensures equipment works properly.
Quarterly Services (90-day intervals)
Examples: Pest control, commercial electrical checks, seasonal landscaping
Why quarterly: Matches seasonal changes, prevents pest reinfestations, maintains safety compliance.
Seasonal Services (180-day intervals)
Examples: HVAC tune-ups (spring/fall), irrigation system checks, gutter cleaning
Why seasonal: Equipment runs efficiently during peak seasons (summer AC, winter heating).
Annual Services (365-day intervals)
Examples: Plumbing inspections, septic tank pumping, major equipment overhauls
Why annual: Preventive maintenance catches problems early, extends equipment life, meets warranty requirements.
Payment and Invoicing
Important: Recommendations appear regardless of invoice payment status.
- Past due invoices don't block new bookings
- You can book maintenance even with outstanding balance
- Business owner sees payment status when scheduling
- Payment terms can be discussed when booking
Best practice: Keep invoices current to maintain good standing and avoid service delays.
Tips for Staying on Schedule
Enable Notifications
Make sure notification preferences are enabled to receive:
- Reminder emails when services are due
- Confirmation emails when you book
- Updates about scheduled appointments
How to enable:
- Go to Settings in portal
- Enable Email Notifications
- Save preferences
Book in Advance
Services fill up quickly, especially during peak seasons:
- Book spring HVAC tune-ups in March (before summer heat)
- Schedule pest control 1-2 weeks before due date
- Plan seasonal services around weather patterns
Set Calendar Reminders
Add your own reminders:
- Set Google/Apple calendar reminder 1 week before service due
- Create recurring reminders based on service intervals
- Schedule multiple services on same visit when possible (saves time)

Can't find a service?
Call the business directly - they can check your service history and schedule manually.
Service showing but not needed?
Recommendations are based on typical intervals. Discuss your specific needs when booking.
Need urgent service?
Don't wait for recommendations - submit emergency service request from main page or call directly.
