How to reset your Crewdex password if you forget it

What this is

Password reset lets you regain access to your Crewdex account if you've forgotten your password. You'll receive an email with a secure reset link.

Who this is for

  • All Users: Anyone who has forgotten their password
  • New Users: First-time login with temporary password

When you use this

  • Forgot Password: Can't remember your current password
  • Account Locked: Too many failed login attempts
  • Security Update: Want to change password for security
  • First Login: Need to set your own password after invitation

How it works

Step 1: Go to Login Page

  1. Visit login page
  2. Click "Forgot Password?" link below login button
  3. You'll be directed to password reset page

Step 2: Enter Your Email

  1. Type the email address associated with your account
  2. Click "Send Reset Link" button
  3. System sends reset email immediately

Example:

Step 3: Check Your Email

What to look for:

  • From: Crewdex [email protected]
  • Subject: "Reset Your Crewdex Password"
  • Contains: Blue "Reset Password" button
  • Valid for: 1 hour

Email Example:

Hi Sarah,

We received a request to reset your password.

[Reset Password] button

This link expires in 1 hour.

Didn't request this? Ignore this email.
  1. Open the email
  2. Click "Reset Password" button
  3. You'll be taken to secure reset page
  4. Link can only be used once

Step 5: Set New Password

Password Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 characters
  • Mix of letters and numbers recommended
  • No maximum length
  • Special characters allowed (!@#$%^&*)

Example Strong Passwords:

  • HvacTech2026!
  • PlumbPro#Blue42
  • Electric$Service99

Steps:

  1. Enter your new password
  2. Re-enter to confirm (must match exactly)
  3. Click "Reset Password" button
  4. Success! You're automatically logged in

Important rules

  • Link expires in 1 hour - Request new link if expired
  • One-time use - Can't reuse same reset link
  • Secure connection - Reset page uses HTTPS encryption
  • Password not stored - System doesn't see your new password

Common mistakes

Mistake 1: Wrong email address

  • What happens: "No account found" error
  • Fix: Use the exact email from your invitation or signup

Mistake 2: Link expired

  • What happens: "Reset link invalid or expired" error
  • Fix: Request a new reset link (only valid 1 hour)

Mistake 3: Password too simple

  • What happens: "Password must be at least 8 characters" error
  • Fix: Use 8+ characters with mix of letters and numbers

Troubleshooting

Didn't Receive Email?

Check these first:

  1. Spam/Junk folder - Email might be filtered
  2. Wait 5 minutes - Email can take a few minutes
  3. Correct email? - Verify you entered right address
  4. Company email filter? - Ask IT to whitelist crewdex.app

Still no email?

Reset links expire after 1 hour for security.

Solution:

  1. Go back to login page
  2. Click "Forgot Password?" again
  3. Request a new reset link

Multiple Reset Requests

If you request multiple resets:

  • Only the most recent link works
  • Previous links are automatically invalidated
  • Use the link from the latest email
