Video Creation Standards

For Crewdex Team (Internal):

Recording Setup

  • Resolution: 1080p (1920×1080)
  • Frame rate: 30fps
  • Aspect ratio: 16:9 (landscape)
  • Audio: Clear voiceover, no background noise
  • Length: 3-7 minutes per video (max 10 min)

Content Guidelines

Script from scenarios:

  • Use scenarios from /docs/video-scenarios/
  • Follow actual user workflows (no shortcuts)
  • Use real business names (not "Acme HVAC")
  • Show realistic data ($1,200 invoice, not $10)

Narration style:

  • Professional but conversational
  • Address user as "you" (not "one should...")
  • Explain WHY, not just WHAT (e.g., "We set Net 30 terms because most commercial customers expect that")
  • Pause between steps (viewers need time to process)

Visual clarity:

  • Zoom in on UI elements being clicked
  • Highlight cursor with yellow circle (Loom feature)
  • Show full navigation path (don't jump to final screen)
  • Include error examples (show what NOT to do)

Post-Production

Upload:

  • Host: Vimeo Pro (not YouTube - unlisted videos)
  • Title format: Crewdex Tutorial: [Feature Name]
  • Description: Include timestamps for chapters
  • Tags: Feature name, user role, difficulty level

Transcripts:

  • Generate with Otter.ai or Rev.com
  • Include timestamps every 30 seconds
  • Format for searchability (add to help page text)
  • Sync with video chapters

Embedding:

  • Add video player to /tutorials page
  • Link from help pages: **[Watch: Schedule a Job →](/tutorials/schedule-job)** (6 min video)
  • Include thumbnail preview
